Urgency urinary incontinence and overactive bladder

What Will I Learn?
  • 1. Understand (the different types of) urgency and its relation with urinary incontinence and overactive bladder
  • 2. Discuss and understand the biological rationale of physiotherapy for these different types of urgency and overactive bladder, their prognostics for success or failure
  • 3. Insight and knowledge of the current level of evidence for physiotherapy for urgency, urgency urinary incontinence and overactive bladder and its place in the algorithm of treatment options

Description

The development of the symptom urgency is complex and fits a heterogeneous patient group. Overactive bladder (OAB) is a symptom complex with urgency as the most compelling symptom. So, OAB patients suffer from urgency, but not all patients with urgency have OAB. This webinar will provide the biological rationale for the different types of urgengy, urgency urinary incontinence and OAB. Which patients will benefit from physiotherapy and who will not? What is the scientific evidence of the different physiotherapeutic treatment modalities such as pelvic floor muscle exercises, behavioural training, electrical stimulation for urgency, urgency urinary incontinence and OAB?
